Yes. The sand is good for at least two batches of ants while the gel will remain good for several colonies worth of digging ants.

  1. In the case of sand ant farms, sift out dead ants and old food from the sand. Put it back into your ant farm to start afresh.
  2. In the case of gel ant farms, rinse dead ants and gel debris out of the tunnels with water. Drain the excess water and you are ready for a new colony. New ants will use existing tunnels and dig additional ones.

Their normal lifespan is 3 weeks to 6 months. But it is not uncommon for ants to have a much shorter life in the absence of a queen ant.

Sorry, no. The USDA rules prohibit us from shipping queen ants because they don’t want them to establish colonies where they don’t belong. Also, ant farms are not designed to contain a large queen and the thousands of young she produces. Your ants will work without the queen.

They should be put into the habitat as soon as possible. But if you are not ready to start your adventure yet, you can put them into the refrigerator for up to 4 days without any harm.

Growing frogs with our Tadpole To Frog Kit is an easy, hassle-free process. We guarantee live arrival of your healthy tadpoles and include helpful accessories with clear instructions.

Each tadpole needs at least one gallon of water. Depending on whether you ordered the standard or the large habitat, you can put 1 or 2 tadpoles in it.

It can take up to a day before the tadpole starts moving around and exploring the habitat. There is no need to be worried.

It takes about 12 to 16 weeks for tadpoles to turn into frogs with complete weekly water changes.

Such a sudden turn of events is usually caused by unclean water:

  1. Accidentally introducing hand lotion or soap into the habitat during a water change
  2. Forgetting to add the water treatment to tap water
  3. Unattended decaying food in the habitat which turned the water dirty

Unclean water causes harm to your tadpoles over time but the effect is not directly visible. Their condition worsens gradually and leads to their untimely death.

Filters may take away the tadpoles’ food and gravel makes water changes hard.

It is not advisable to keep tadpoles and frogs together because the frog might consider the tadpole to be food.

Your local pet shop will have both. Tadpoles like goldfish food. You can use a water treatment solution made for fish tanks, used to remove chlorine and neutralize metals.

None of the terrariums have enough space to house small animals or insects along with the plants. Moreover, snails can eat your carnivorous plants.

You can keep the lid off at all times if you want your plants to naturally catch their prey. When your plants outgrow the height of the terrarium you should keep the lid off at all times.
